New York: New York Book Company, 1910. First Edition, thus. Hardcover. Duodecimo; pp; 168, 168; frontispiece illustration for each tale; tan cloth with a picture of Theodore Roosevelt at center of the upper board;. Very good. Item #17125
This printing of 1910 took advantage of the enormous popularity of Theodore Roosevelt as he returned home from his African Hunting Trip. Still one can make the argument that the Alger formula of hard work and fair dealing resulting in success would have been heartilly endorsed by Theodore Roosevelt, who exemplified that type of integrity. There is no other mention or reference to TR in this piece. His image was used simply to sell books.
